We’re excited to introduce Automatic Certificate Management powered by ACME v2 in Barracuda WAF-as-a-Service, making SSL/TLS certificate handling seamless and secure for your web applications.
What’s New?
You can now automate the entire lifecycle—issuance, renewal, and deployment—of SSL/TLS certificates provided by adding 3 new certificate authorities that support the ACME v2 protocol. Barracuda WAF-as-a-Service securely connects to your chosen CA (Let’s Encrypt, Sectigo, ZeroSSL, or Google Trust Services), manages authentication, and handles all certificate operations for your domains, with no manual intervention required.
Why ACME v2?
ACME v2 is the industry-standard protocol for automating certificate management. It enables secure, reliable, and standardized communication between Barracuda WAF-as-a-Service and your preferred CA, ensuring fast and error-free certificate provisioning and renewal.
Supported Certificate Authorities:
Let’s Encrypt (default)
Sectigo
ZeroSSL
Google Trust Services
What’s in it for you?
Effortless Security: Automate certificate management for a CA that supports ACME v2, keeping your domains secure and compliant at all times.
Time & Cost Savings: Eliminate manual certificate tracking, renewal, and deployment—freeing up your team for more strategic work.
Flexibility & Compliance: Choose the CA that best fits your organization’s needs and regulatory requirements.
Reduced Risk: Centralized, automated lifecycle management minimizes the risk of human error, outages, and security gaps.
How to Get Started:
Go to Resources > Certificate Management > Certificate Authority Credentials to add your ACME v2-compatible CA details.
Associate the CA with your domain under Applications > Endpoints and enable Automatic Certificate Management.
Barracuda WAF-as-a-Service will handle all certificate issuance, renewal, and deployment for you.
Note:
Certificate generation and provisioning may take approximately 20–30 minutes. For early replacement of active certificates, please contact Barracuda Technical Support.
